Vasfije Krasniqi Goodman responds to rumours that she spoke only because she had the American husband

“Vasphylia today is stronger because for 19 years I have been behind the support of my family, society, but when you have the support of the people in Kosovo it is pride and has given me the strength to fight even more, not just for myself but for another 20 grand”. So begins her confession to [...]
After her public appearance, which revealed her entire confession, for the first time in the eyes of the world, Krasniqi faced opinions in addition to the fact that she had the courage to deal with the mentality in which she lived and the fact that she was married to an American citizen rather than Kosovo.
At KTV's Rubik, she gave the answer to these voices, stressing that above all was her family and four brothers who supported her all the time and not only after she got married.
My wish is that even someone who goes out to speak publicly from Kosovo, not to say that Vasfia has it easy because he has the American husband behind him. I have four brothers, Albanians, Kosovars... not to have their support, no matter how long after my husband's, I could not speak if I had followed the family reconciliation in Kosovo”, Krasniqi-Goodman said.
“has been touching the confession of other women who do not have the support of the family and especially of the children who are told, you better commit suicide”, she added. “And I have waited five months to get my status out, my case is slightly different, in three trials in Kosovo are my documents. I've been fighting for justice since '99, it's been very easy to verify my case, but I've waited five months”, she explained.
Krasniqi-Goodman says the Commission's work could be faster since she too is constantly accepting messages from victims, who see it as hope for help. She also mentions the fact that there are voices that are applying even persons who have not been victims of violence.
The “should be ashamed of those who on somebody else's side want to profit for themselves”, she added.
“We're wounded but we can't see holes, we don't have lead marks, but we have the wounded spirit”, she said. I've been written by many survivors who are expecting an answer, yes or no. They'd better hurry up. If we're 20 grand, how long until we get to know their status?
