Al Jazeeras reporter from Nahal-Oz near the barricade that shared the Gaza Belt with Israel said that the Hamas-led factions on Tuesday accepted the “ceasefire to resume the situation that prevailed until the last military evacuation”.
Hamas is the group that manages the surrounding Gaza Strip, reports Al Jazeera, accompanying Klan Kosova.
The reporter added: “Israelites do not confirm or deny such things, but Israeli media are reporting, citing an unidentified official, that Palestinian factions proved through four separate mediators to request a” ceasefire.
A statement by Palestinian groups in Gaza said: Egypt's “efforts have been able to reach a ceasefire between Palestinian resistance and sinonist enemy”.
Palestinians say they will respect the truce until Israel respects it.
The recent conflict between them began after the killings of seven Palestinians by Israeli forces who were protesting in the established barricade.
