He has spoken of the upcoming reports with PDK deputy Elmi Recica, as well as claims that he is close to the party's chairman, Kadri Veselin.
“No political influence or pressure do I have. We are known by Recica for more than 30 years. I also know many politicians who come from Ferizaj, where I live. Many of them I know have shared the same fate: many of them have been political activists or in war and I have met them that I am from that side. I also meet all MPs from all political parties, and I have no problem with”, he said.
On the other hand, Qalaj has also spoken of President Hashim Thaci's visit to Weyman and the Brnjak border checkpoint, on the very day and hour of holding the protest by the Vetevendosje Movement against the president's idea of border correction.
Qalaj had been part of the delegation that held this visit, along with AKI Director Shpend Maxun, and the two PDK ministers, Abelard Tahiri and Bedri Hamza.
“has been the president's decision to perform that visit to Wyman and the border checkpoint in Brnjak. I don't appreciate whether or not it was the right decision. We have an obligation to protect the president. The president that day decided to visit the border police station in Brnjak that is in my management, and whenever one of the politicians decides to visit a border point, I'll be there. We've had the honor of visiting the president. We had a great time, because the director of the point gave detailed reports of the work being done there. As soon as he decided to visit, the president has notified us and we've made preparations during the day”, Qalaj said.
He has also talked about statements by Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, who after Thaci's visit there had asked the army to be on war alert.
“To tell the truth has not bothered their statements that Vuciq is the president of Serbia and has nothing to do with Kosovo. Kosovo police officers operate throughout the country and will operate in the future. There are no obstacles to operating even in northern Kosovo. Whenever our units are there, they will be. We had no duty that day but to offer security to President”, he added./ P ERISCOPIA
