According to a report by the presidency, Thaci is expected to meet at the White House with John Bolton, the president's National Security Adviser Donald Trump, as well as State Department Secretary Mike Pompeii.
At these meetings, President Thaci will talk about bilateral relations between the two states, about Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic perspective and the achievement of a comprehensive and legally binding agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, which provides Kosovo recognition by Serbia and paves the way for EU, NATO and UN” membership, the announcement said.
Thaci, according to the announcement, will meet with congressmen and senators, but also with former President George W. Bush.
President Thaci's “vision in Washington comes at an important time for the country, where Kosovo is making efforts to realising the Euro-Atlantic perspective and reaching the final agreement with Serbia, which must result in mutual recognition and Kosovo's membership at the UN”, concludes the communique by the presidency.
