Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has to make Kosovo Intelligence Agency deputy director (AKI) Meriton Shoshi, brother of Faton Shoshi, the man he denounced in late 2013 AKI to attempt kidnapping. President Hashim Thaci is holding this appointment hostage.
AKI is without deputy director from August 3rd, when Latif Merovci was dismissed. The dismissal decision, as well as the one appointed, should be made by the president and prime minister jointly. But although the Law on AKI requires that this position cannot remain hot for more than 20 days, these two top state authorities have not yet found the candidate to succeed Merovcin, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
Haradinaj has long prepared the decision to appoint Meriton Shoshi, who currently works in the Financial Intelligence Unit, which operates within the Government. The prime minister has even signed it.
“Z. Meriton Shoshi is named deputy director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency; Mr. Meriton Shoshi is named for a five-year term (5), which can be renewed”, says at the first two points of the decision signed by the head of government. “This decision comes into force by the date of the signing”, followed at fourth point.
