Statistics Agency: Kosovo imports 94 per cent of wheat from Serbia

In 2016, 135,282 tons of wheat were imported, and over 97 percent of that amount was imported from Serbia.
In 2017 Kosovo has imported 105,055 tonnes of wheat, and the percentage of imports from Serbia is as early as the year before.
And in 2018 until November, Kosovo imported 101,982 tons of wheat.
And other states of which Kosovo imports wheat are Hungary around 3. 366 tonnes, from Austria, have imported 1,570 tonnes of wheat and from Croatia, imported 543 tonnes, only during 2017, reports Kalxo.com.
Kosovo exports wheat to Albania alone.
In 2015 it exported 772 tons, exported 325 tons in 2016, and exported 328 tons in 2017.
And the grain - planted area from 2012 to 2017 has fallen markedly.

The issue of wheat import is currentised after the 10 per cent additional move on Serbian and Bosnian goods imposed by the Government of Kosovo.
This measure appears to have affected the increase in the price of bread in Prizren for 33 percent.
