Roma community women, Ashkali and Egypt react to song “My im Galelic”

The network of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian women organisations in Kosovo (Rrogreek) reacts sharply in terms of Kastriot Gajqevci song titled “My Gabelica”, which the day before was launched on the Kosovo music market. For “Rograek”, the text of this song, which contains insulting, deignive and racist languages for the Roma community, is unacceptable. [...]
For “Rrogreek”, the text of this song, which contains insulting, deignive and racist languages for the Roma community, is unacceptable.
“Rrogreek” considers that all of this is contrary to human freedoms and rights, as well as Kosovo's constitutional system, under which all individuals have the right to enjoy these fundamental rights and freedoms, without being the object of any kind of discrimination based on race, color, gender, language, religion, political opinion or any other opinion, national or social background, connections to any community, family background, or other status.
For “Rrogreek”, it is unacceptable that the women of the Roma community are labeled and offended in this way, through lyrics of songs, at a time when, thanks to foreign donors' funds, it is working intensibly, for the integration of non-major communities into society, for equal treatment, without differences of race, color and background.
“Rrogreek”, also requires that the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo take immediate measures regarding the case in question and that those who have launched this song, which offends the Roma community, seek public forgiveness. And so do the writers of the text, to receive due punishment.
We urgently request that the song be removed from the music market until the insulting and denigrative language is improved to the Roma community, used in the song titled “My Gabelica”
