Postponing visa liberalisation drags Kosovo's 8 thousand hectares of land

The chairman of the Commission for Demarketing the Border between Kosovo and Montenegro, Speed Bulqi, appointed to this post by Prime Minister Haradinaj, shows that nothing has yet been done to correct the agreement ratified by the Kosovo and Montenegrin assembly.

He says he is awaiting the Government's decision to start working together with the Montenegrin commission.

It's not our business, it's government business. We can't do anything like commission. We're ready, we're just waiting for the Government's decision, but we're not the ones to open the discussions, but for once there's nothing from Government. But the truth is, I don't know that either. Whenever opportunities open up to us as a commission, we have readiness. So far we as commission have not had any contact with the Montenegrin Commission”, Bulliqi had said days earlier.

For Insider and the Government of Kosovo have acknowledged that until now, work has not been under way to repair the border agreement with Montenegro. The reason for not starting work by the two commissions according to the Government of Kosovo is due to preparations that should be made, as well as because of Kosovo priorities.

Haradinaj had long ago declared that the priority for his government would remain visa liberalisation and that the agreement on restrictions with Montenegro be corrected.

The agreement between Kosovo and Montenegro was reached on August 25th 2015 in Vienna. Vetevendosje, AAK and the opposition party initiative had sharply rejected this agreement, considering that Kosovo has lost land.
