Israel's government appears to have survived a possible collapse, as a key partner withdrew the threat of exiting the coalition, which would lead to early elections.
Naphtali Bennett, by party “The Jewish house” had declared it would withdraw from the coalition, but on Monday he said it would continue to remain in government.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held talks with the ministers in recent days in an effort to keep the coalition united.
The crisis began after the defence minister in the Israeli government resigned, in sign of controversy over the ceasefire between Israel and the militants in Gaza.
Bennett had said he would withdraw the party from the coalition if he did not appoint the new defence minister. However, Netanyahu himself has taken up the role of defence minister for a time. /Top Channel
