The minister has said that the MTI inspectorate has already increased within the market in Kosovo, until he has added that there is so far no remark that is disturbing, which, he says, the Inspectorate and the ministry will need to take steps.
Shala has also said that the issue of oil quality control, at the entrance -- that is, in customs is not the competence of the Ministry of Commerce, but the Customs -- but that the ministry only inspects the market within Kosovo.
I want to inform you that the issue of oil quality control, at the entrance, is no longer the competence of the Ministry of Commerce, this competence was taken from the Ministry of Commerce in 2017, and this competence is now the Kosovo Customs, that is, the institution which is responsible for the quality of the derivatives that enter Kosovo is dogana”, Shala has told the news.
Shala has also said he is concerned because customs does not have capacities for control of oil quality, as he says, given that customs is only in the matter of tariffs.
According to him, the control that customs does in products is only in terms of tariffs.
I don't want to stop and discuss whether this is a good or a bad matter. I also have concerns from sellers of oil products, but citizens also from the ministry staff that customs does not own capacity for oil quality control, given that customs is only in the control of tariff issues. The control that the customs made in products is only in terms of tariff setting, but despite that the MTI inspectorate, has added controls to the shopping malls, meaning at shopping stations in Kosovo”, Shala added.
