South Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri, at the extraordinary session of Mitrovica's Municipal Assembly, has called for the Law on Administrative Borders of the Communists to be amended.
After the ongoing debate, the municipal Assembly has unanimously approved the Bahtiri chairman's proposal.
All parties have given support to Bahtir initiative except The PDK, which has demanded that this initiative have requested joining several points like the release of the bridge, building the mosque release of the property return hospital.
How serious is Bahtiri's initiative, is another dimension of interpretation, but what is said in the Law Bahtiri seeking to change the Kosovo Assembly?
This law, which is mEscaped to Kosovo Assembly on June 2, 2008At his entrance, he says:
“In order to integrate non-major communities and especially the Serb community of the Republic of Kosovo into Kosovo society, establish a functional state throughout the territory and create a sustainable system of local self-government that will improve the efficiency of public services, the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo”.
Agim Bahtiri in his address today at the extraordinary hearing, has sought to change Article 3, respectively, score 3.3 of this law:
Can Bahtiri's idea be realized? Here's what the law says:
9.2 Change of municipal administrative borders cannot be made before consultation with citizens in
municipalities or parts of municipalities affected by the change.
Otherwise, though Agim Bahtiri today has declared that Kosovo political leaders are aware of his idea, otherwise they said yesterday in the Government of Kosovo and even in his own party.
The Kosovo government is unaware of Mitrovica municipality Chairman Agim Bahtiri's initiative for the “reunification” of this municipality, at least so it has indicated about KALLXO.com Donjeta Gashi, spokeswoman of the Government.
We've received a press release before, we're not aware yet we've discussed it very quickly, and we're going to be out of attitude”, Gashi said.
While Fatmir Matoshi from the AKR, the party from which the chairman Bahtiri comes, has said this is an individual initiative and the party has not discussed something like that. /Periscopi/
