MPJ estimates that the Serbian state is using double standards in relations with the informed and non-recognising states of the Republic of Kosovo.
This is using, misusing and manipulating the dialogue for full normalisation of relations between the two states with the primary aim of making diplomatic aggression against the sovereignty and international image of the Republic of Kosovo”, it is said in the statement.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlights the official position that the Republic of Kosovo has entered into dialogue with the neighbouring state of Serbia with EU mediation, full support of the US and other allied states and partner states with the good will and full trust to improve relations between two states and peoples through the achievement of the dedicated Legal Agreement, which would have to end with mutual recognition between the two states and the full and equal membership of the Republic of Kosovo in the United Nations body of<1>
For the Republic of Kosovo, dialogue with good will and trust has reportedly been and remains the only way of solving problems, building confidence between two states and two peoples, promoting long-term peace, strengthening regional stability and increasing prosperity for all peoples.
“But it cannot and should not be transformed as a malicious instrument, destructive tool and manipulating method by the neighbouring state, for the damage and collapse of the new state's image in foreign relations and in parallel with this endangering national interests of the state and Kosovo citizens”.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers that such actions by the neighbouring state leadership seem to be intended to shake even the positive regional mood to give space to geopolitical actions, which cultivate distribution with the regional will for EU integration, NATO, the membership of the Republic of Kosovo in INTERPOL and visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on EU representatives, as dialogue mediators, the US as its full supporter and other allied and partner states, to respond immediately and to warn the neighbouring state of conduct and such actions, which are in stark opposition to the pledge of regional co-operation, commitment to integration into the EU and the express will for full normal normalisation of relations between the two states”.
