The king of Saudi Arabia has broken the silence over the murder of Jamal Khashogg, declaring that the responsible will not escape God's law.
However, during the speech given before the parliamentary assembly, the monarch has not commented on the speculation that his son is behind the journalist's murder.
Saudi Arabia's King Salman spoke for the first time Monday about the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
His speech, held at a session of the Kingdom parliamentary assembly, came days after the Saudi chief prosecutor recommended the death penalty for 5 suspects in the murder.
However, during the announcement, the monarch did not comment on allegations raised by the CIA that his son, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, ordered the execution.
Instead of commenting, the king stressed the justice organs that in Saudi Arabia are managing investigations into the October 2nd murder at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
Our kingdom was founded on Islam based on justice. We should be proud of the efforts the judiciary and prosecutors are making in fulfilling the tasks entrusted to them and should reiterate that our country will not avoid implementing the law of God”, Salman said in front of the popularly unelected parliamentary structure, but having an advisory role for the royal family.
After several times denying responsibility for the murder of Jamal Kashogg, Saudi authorities later declared that he had been executed by rebel secret service agents.
Meanwhile, a series of information published in international media have linked the murder to the crown prince; but so far Mohammed bin Salman has not been involved in investigations by Saudi authorities.
