Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini has called on the European Union to take rapid and meritive steps for visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens.
In an interview for Online Economy, the leader of The PDK has spoken of adopting the legal package for the European Reforms Agency (ERA) and the recent political developments in the northern part of Kosovo.
All European Union criteria “have been met for visa liberalisation. Furthermore, Kosovo is fulfilling even part of the criteria that are not at all within the framework of the conditions for liberalisation. In yesterday's European reform agenda, the Parliament has approved a host of bills that are related to reform in the justice system, which is important not only for our integration into the European Union but also for progress in the field of rule of law and increased efficiency of the justice system to be more equal people before the law, but also to have the potential for an investor to have greater security. Kosovo has met all conditions, Kosovo must receive the well-deserved answer for free movement, it is the only country whose citizens do not move freely, we believe in the European Union as long as the European Union should not damage its reputation against 1.7 million citizens of its”, Veselin told Online Economy.
Kosovo Assembly head, simultaneously leader PDK, Kafre Veselini, has also talked about recent developments in the country's north.
Any action of ours is institutional, legitimate. Long ago we have had destructive and aggressive action of the Serbian state over Kosovo, blockades in goods in the integration process. We have a very clear goal of having a good neighbourhood to have a dialogue between us, but at the same time this state is independent and sovereign and is not subject to Serbia. Serbian citizens are respected citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, have their rights. I call them to feel safe. They're our fellow citizens, we're going to live together, there's no place for worry and panic, we're going to take all the measures that in any form at any moment don't affect any citizens. I have a message for our Albanian citizens in the northern part of Kosovo, directly for Belgrade not to violate, not to provoke because it will carry its responsibility. But we as institutions will seek the protection of every security and every life of our citizens”, Wessel has declared.
