Minister Abelard Tahiri has not respected the ruling of the Independent Council for Civil Service, which imposes it and Public Administration Minister Mahir Jagcilar, to cancel the competition for general directors of the Kosovo Correcting Service, KTV reports.
Thus, Nehat Thaci, who was appointed by the Kosovo government in April of this year's prison director, was on the narrow list along with two other people.
But the contest was cancelled with the ruling of the Independent Council of Overseers weeks ago, following Ali Gashi's complaint, which claims he was unjustly eliminated from the list.
According to this Council's decision, Nehat Thaci graduated from the Law School at a private college in 2016 and was able to access the narrow list and then be elected to the principal's position.
The competition criteria have provided for the new director to have at least eight years of work experience after graduation.
Despite that, the Ministry of Public Administration has not only canceled the competition after this decision by the Supervisor Council, but has sent the same to the tribunal.
Despite this, according to the legal advice in the KKPSHCK decision, sending the case to the tribunal in this case by the Ministry, does not prevent the execution of the decision to cancel the competition for prison directors.
