Two Health Ministry officials arrested

The Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption has arrested two people today as suspects involved in criminal acts of duty and misuse of official position or authority.

Suspect H.D. (1964) in the quality of the director of finance at the Ministry of Health, it is alleged that by failing to meet his legal authorisations during 2017 and 2018, in relation to the withdrawals of foreign travel priorities for AKPM officials, which allegedly have been attracted to official trips that have not occurred at all, they are additional and for which there is no relevant documentation proving the reason for withdrawal.

The abuse scheme for 2017-2018 is 132 thousand and 345 euros”, the Kosovo Police report said.

And suspect two, M.R. (1952) in the quality of the director of finance at the Ministry of Health in 2014-2017 allegedly acted in opposition to his official duty, allowing the withdrawal of foreign travel advantages for AKPM officials who have not occurred at all and the withdrawal of tools has been allowed in conflict with law and with proper documentation.

The amount of misuse of vehicles attracted on behalf of official trips abroad for travel that have not occurred at all for 2014-2017 is 1 million and 170 thousand and 854 euros.

All these withdrawals of the means on behalf of AKPM advances, contrary to the law, have been handed over to the M.S. suspect. arrested on March 28th.

After interviewing suspected persons with the ruling Constitutional Prosecutor in Pristina are sent to the ban for 48 hours.
