The former diplomat has secured 59% of the vote, while her rival, Grigol Vashadze 40%.
Zarabishvili is now 66 years old, born in France, after her parents fled Georgia in 1921 after her annexation by Soviet forces.
In her address she has said she favours balancing Georgia's relations with Russia and the West.
