With the exception of several extremist votes from Greece and Bulgaria, the largest majority of Eurodeputs last night in the pre-election Macedonia report have called for the start of EU membership negotiations in June, but have ordered that the country must continue at the same reform pace.
Rapporteur Ivo Oil, but other Eurodeputs have recalled that not only Macedonia but the EU must fulfil its promises in the Euro-integration process as well. He and many others have welcomed the Prespa Agreement and invited it to be completed in the Macedonian Assembly and ordered that he believes negotiations with the EU will begin in 2019.
“For this need to be a democratic inculcative environment, all must co-operate, the judicial system should be modernised, rule of law respected, space established for free media, protect journalists and carry out effective war on corruption and organised crime”, oil has ordered.
Enlargement Commissioner Johannes Han has stressed that the country has returned to the Euro-Atlantic road and welcomed constitutional changes, considering it a bold step that expects it to go on unattended.
The important “is the reforming moment to deepen in the interest of citizens”, Han has stated recalling that the three conditions in the EU Council's conclusion from June-independent trial and the fight against corruption, control of intelligence and security reforms and reforms in public administration, are reforms without which negotiations cannot be split.
Three deputies from Romania, who has taken the lead with ME from 1 January 2019, have strongly supported the start of negotiations with Macedonia and have expressed regret that it has not happened so far.
“Macedonia is the highest-level EU harmonisation candidate country with the European legislature”, Victor Bostinaru has said.
Kristijan Dan Pres from PEP has invited Greece to more understanding of Macedonia following criticism of some MPs like Sofia Sakorafa, who has declared I will not support the Vajle report on Macedonia.
The Prespa Agreement is not feasible”, it has stated, ordering that constitutional changes undermine what is agreed on.
Konstantin Papadikis of the communist party has ordered that Ivo Oil's report is “in violation of the EU” and presents “pre-capsing before the major capital of European monopoly interests”.
Meanwhile, Austrian Chief Agent Karolin Edstadler on the other hand, as well as Commissioner Han, has recalled that the remaining reforms needed for the start of negotiations invited a way to ensure unstoppable work in the PSP's work.
Neither have orders to Hungary been overlooked for the extradition of former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
Rapporteur Ivo Vajle has estimated that the approved asylum represents unacceptable “mixer” on the part of Hungarian authorities.
“I am concerned about the case with Gruevski, Hungary certainly immediately returns it, with this Hungary makes dangerous precedent”, Bostinaru has declared.
“What Orban does is not support Macedonia”, Preda has said.
Hungarian Eurodeput Laslo Tokes has declared Hungary continues to support enlargement towards the Western Balkans, including Macedonia.
The asylum room's “has been consistent with the legal procedure, and each would agree that additional efforts are needed to protect itself from policy”, Tokes said.
