The youngest woman ever chosen at the U.S. Congress has a problem, she can't pay her rent. This will certainly be until the new job begins in January.
After telling the New York Times that she's waiting for her pay, before taking an apartment in Washington DC, the democrat has turned into everyone's focus.
Fox News designer Ed Henry sparked the debate when she said 29-year-old is not telling the full truth because when she appeared in a magazine, she wore clothes that cost thousands of dollars.
She replied on Twitter, showing him that the clothes Henry talks about had only been given to make photos. Comments on social networks have flooded from every corner of America.
Alexander Ocasio-Cortez, who can't rent a house in Washington DC, this is the millennium announcement, wrote a tweeter.
The 29-year-old was elected in New York's 14th electoral zone, following a progressive campaign based on issues involving poverty, property equality and immigration.
Born in the Bronx, with Puerto Rican parents, she describes herself as part of the working class, and until the beginning of this year, she worked in restaurants to increase her pay as community activist.
