Austria's Chancellor Sebastian Kurz has said Austria supports any kind of agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia.
According to him, a peace agreement is the basis for membership in the European Union. ” As far as the territorial exchange is concerned, Austria agrees with any agreement reaching the two countries”, Cuz said after meeting Kosovo President Hashim Thaci.
He has said that without an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia there can be no European perspective for any state. A successful Kosovo-Serbia dialogue and reaching an agreement.
Without a peace agreement there can be no European perspective, there will be no good co-existence and there will be no peace in the region”, the Austrian Chancellor said.
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said Kosovo has made clear the vision in EU and NATO membership. According to him in the context of integration, neighbourly relations are the main condition.
Kosovo has built good relations with neighbours, we are also trying with Serbia. Serbia and Bosnia have not yet recognised Kosovo.
Kosovo remains committed to an agreement with Serbia. I am convinced that the reciprocal agreement will bring peace and stability to the entire Balkans Western”, the president said. As for visa liberalisation, Thaci has said that Kosovo has fulfilled all criteria.
Kosovo has implemented overall the criteria for visa liberalisation. Citizens deserve it, we'll work with member states. I believe in Austria's support and I believe member states will support it. Dialogue must continue. Without a peaceful agreement neither Kosovo nor Serbia will have European future”, he said.
