On the same day that US Ambassador to Belgrade Kyle Scott spoke out against the Kosovo Government's 100 per cent tax decision on products from Serbia, even representatives of the US Embassy in Pristina have come out sharply against that decision.
In charge of this embassy, College Hyland, via the social Twitter network, has written that this tax does not ensure normalisation of relations between the two countries.
The raising of tariffs for CEFTA members is equal to increasing pain for Kosovo citizens, increasing tensions and increasing the damage to Kosovo's reputation”, Hyland has written. “Strategic leadership, not emotional reactions, is needed to secure Kosovo's European future and normalise relations with Serbia”, it has added further.
During the day, US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott has declared that Kosovo tax 100 per cent for goods of Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina is discriminatory, Time.net broadcasts.
He has said that what applies to Albanian citizens in Kosovo should be applied to members of other ethnic communities.
“I believe Kosovo should be multiethnic and democratic state”, he has said.
