Thaci meets with Marshal Peach: Conditions for Kosovo to become military are ripe

The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, has hosted Marshal Stuart Peach, chairman of the NATO Military Committee, with which he has talked about Kosovo and NATO co-operation and recent developments affecting security in Kosovo and the region.
President Thaci has expressed gratitude for the work of NATO in general and KFOR in particular, which they have done during these two decades in Kosovo.
“NATO, KFOR, are the names that enjoy the trust of all Kosovo citizens. This is due to your work for all Kosovo citizens”, President Thaci said.
Speaking of developments in Kosovo, President Thaci has said all conditions are ripe for the KSF to be transformed into the Kosovo Army.
“The KSF is ready to become the Kosovo Army. The transformation is a gradual process, co-ordinated with NATO and our allies”, he has added.
Marshall Peach has confirmed that NATO, through KFOR, will continue to carry out its mission, in the interest of Kosovo and the region.
“NATO will continue to offer quiet and secure environments for all”, Marshal Peach said.
President Thaci has stressed that with the transformation of the KSF, NATO will gain a reliable partner.
