An investigation launched in January by the competition authority in Italy found that some mobile software updates had a negative effect on performance equipment.
The investigation, believed to be the first of its kind against mobile phone producers, came after allegations that updates of the operating system slowed older mobile phones, prompting people to buy new mobile phones.
By The Guardian, an official declaration of competition authority says companies did not provide adequate information about the impact of the new system on mobile phones.
Both companies were sentenced to 5m euros, but Apple was sentenced to an additional 5m euros, because it did not provide users with <x0-secondial information” about the characteristics of lithium batteries, including their life expectancy, how to maintain them or when to replace them.
