Montenegrins protest Albania's hydropower plant on Cems common river

Dozens of pro-Ambient activists have organised a bicycle protest from Montenegro's capital to the border with Albania on Saturday to protest the construction of a pendever from the Albanian side of Cemre River, the river that runs through the two countries. Protesters oppose plans to build around 3,000 small hydropower plants.
In Saturday's demonstration, some protesters held placards in hand with inscriptions “Cemi is our property”, “Do not put Cem into the tube”, and others, Reuters reports.
Critics say that the fins are endangering the last rivers, including Cemre.
When you block arteries into a human body, man dies; as well as rivers”, Adem Kyosey, 60, retired and fisherman from the area around the border city of Tuzi, who joined the protest, broadcast Koha.net.
A feather on the 60km river is currently being built, and protesters say Albania has not asked for reconciliation from Montenegrin authorities, nor has it announced them on the project.
They have also criticised Montenegrin authorities for failing to issue a protest note against Albania.
Most of the small hydropower plants in the region produce no more than 1 megawatt (MW) which can supply more than 750 homes, but environmentalists say they are destroying fish migration paths and are a threat to dozens of species, including Danube Salmon and the Balkan Rose.
