We never use cell phones on a plane.
Why?
We've all heard that boring request to turn off the phone while using it on the plane.
How can some weak cell signals affect a plane that is thousands of tons? Many people feel that this has begun to practice after the 11 September attacks, and continues to be used to give passengers a calm feeling.
But that is not the only reason. What is the real reason? Most cell phones have Wi-Fi, so you don't need to stop “Airplane mode” while you can send messages through whatasapp or call through it.
Despite that, however, the exact reason for this ban by international and national airlines is curiosity.
The truth is there are two federal organizations that have jurisdiction over using mobile phones along flights. These two organizations have rules that regulate the use of mobile phones on the plane, and rarely exceed those rules.
Since the aircraft is in the air, mobile phones start receiving signals from many towers and thus confuse these travel - control organizations. This may also affect the wave of watchtowers connected to aircraft pilots, seems to cause interference in waves, which means there may be serious consequences later if the connection is lost to the tower.
