LDK chairman Isa Mustafa has said he has started to sow fear that visa liberalisation may not happen until 2020.
Through a Facebook post, Mustafa says that “when his party was required to vote demarcation with Montenegro, the others were falsely propaganda that Kosovo is losing 8 thousand hectares of land”. He further adds that individuals who now say that “Kosovo could remain visa-free by 2020 blame against the opposition”.

When in 2016 we sought to ratify the border demarcation agreement with Montenegro, as a condition for visa liberalisation, but also as an instrument of state sovereignty, those in power today opposed and denounced us for losing over 8,000 hectare of land. With fraud and popular politics, we missed the chance to complete the liberalisation process. Now, on the eve of elections for the European Parliament, the threat of popularism has exceeded the limits of our fraud and primitiveness. There are real fears that individual states will hesitate to support visa liberalisation for Kosovo, fearing people, right and left, in their countries until the election process in EU institutions, whose epilogue is hard to know.
Individuals today who say that liberalisation can be postponed by 2020 and who try to throw the stone into the opposition well know what the problem is, but they need an internal mire to justify themselves. Despite this, Kosovo must make maximum efforts for its citizens to be released from the visa regime as soon as possible; to ensure that this country will be governed well and without corruption, that we will develop the economy and open jobs. To fear that our young people will abandon Kosovo and take the world in sight. IM
