Unidentified officials have told American media that investigators believe at least one such package was sent to Florida.
But the FBI hasn't published the research details yet.
Among the people on board are former US Vice President Joe Biden and former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Miami County Police have said the agent investigation facility is in Opa-locka, while a bomb squad is taking part in the investigation.

On Thursday evening, Time Warner Building in New York has been evacuated after reporting on a suspicious package, but later these claims have been described as false alarm.
This building has network offices, CNN, which has accepted one of these equipment on Wednesday.
Meanwhile FBI deputy director William Sweney confirmed that the white substance found in the CNN package started “does not pose a biological threat”.
New York Police Commissioner James O'Neill did not confirm that all the equipment might have exploded, but he said officials are treating all “as suspicious devices”.
