Facebook reported on Thursday the closure of 559 pages and 251 profiles that have not respected its rules against spam, including” advertising campaigns”, claiming they are forums of political debates.
This announcement comes as the social network is trying to curb its platforms so that it can be used to spread dezination and division with the approach of American mesmundat elections in November.
”Facebook closed pages and profiles included after repeatedly violating the conditions used against spam and co-ordinated fraud groups”, writes FBB cyber security chief Nathanel Gliicer and product manager Oscar Rodriguez in a blog post.
” Many used false profiles or some profiles with the same name and posted large amounts of content through a network of groups and pages to navigate traffic to their pages.
