Serbian officials have said that during today Serb pilgrims were attacked in Istog and that reason they have called for international reaction.
Serbian media report that during today's Istog, two buses of Serbian pilgrims were stoned to visit the church of “The Holy Virgin of Croatia”.
Following this alleged incident, the director of the so-called Office for Kosovo in Serbia's Government, Marko Djuric, has reacted.
He has called on the international community to react to the attack by Orthodox pilgrims, who, as Serbian media write, have fortunately suffered no injuries.
Today's “Sulm is just another warning to the fate of all Serb shrines in Kosovo and Metohija if they were left without protection and therefore I call on the international community to react more seriously, because it is not only an attack on pilgrims, but also on the symbols of a common European Christian tradition and European values”, Djuric said.
According to Djuric, this shows that Albanians are religious extremists and do not respect the religious culture of others, despite being called upon to religious tolerance.
As Serbian media write, Djuric has asked Europe not to be silent in the face of expanding extremism and religious radicalism in Kosovo, as this, according to him, radicalism knows no limits and may be a threat to Europe itself, the news conveys.net.
Unlike this attack fortunately there were no injuries, and after reporting the case, all Orthodox Serb pilgrims have headed towards Serbia.
