German luxury car manufacturer Audi, which operates within the Volkswagen Group, announced today that it has been fined 800m euros for violations of regulations related to six-and-eight cylinder oil engines.
In view of these important articles, the Audio Group will significantly reduce the main indicators of financial performance that were predicted for fiscal year 2018,” said in a statement, Reuters reports.
In September 2015, the Volkswagen Group acknowledged that its experts in about 11 million cars had re-run the software to show that the level of harmful gases damaged was within the allowed limits, though it was apparently higher.
The prosecution said closing the case against the company would not influence a separate investigation against Audi's chiefs.
