Albania's Assembly Considers casino closure, opposition continues boycott

Albania's Assembly is expected today to discuss and vote on amendments to the Law on Game of Fate.

The bill, proposed by the government, changed by the Economy Commission, envisions closing all betting points, casinos, bingo, track racing and any organised bets. Also envisioned is the ban on online gambling at a distance.

The head of the government has suggested that, too, in the Assembly today, he will also speak for the opposition, which since the start of the new parliamentary session continues to have a conditional relationship with parliament, broadcast at the scene.
