The next time you think about standing on a panoromic rock, or on the top of a waterfall, take good care of yourself before you make a <x0);sefie”, since it could be the last thing you do in your life.

More than 250 people worldwide have lost their lives by taking “selphie” in the last six years, according to a study conducted by “All India Institute of Medical Sciences”, a group of public medical colleges based in New Delhi.

The findings, which analyzed information reports of at least 259 deaths related to a “selfie” from October 2011 to November 2017, were published in the number of July-August months of “Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care”.

Of the 259 deaths, researchers found that drowning was the main cause, following incidents involving transport vehicles, ʹ as an example, making a “selphie” ahead of the approaching train, dealt with or falling from heights. Other causes of death linked to “selphie” include animals, firearms or power drains.

The deaths after a ésselfie have become a major public health problem”, says Agami Bansal, lead author of the study, for “Washington Post”

Although the study concluded that India had the highest number of deaths in the world than any other, numerous reports of fatal incidents of “selfie” also come from Russia, the United States or Pakistan.

Bansal points out that although the mere action of making a “is not fatal in itself, the risk increases when people decide to take risks in an effort to make the perfect picture.

If someone stays in the country and tries to take a picture with a famous character or something else, it's not harmful, he said. But if he is associated with dangerous behavior, that's what makes him dangerous. What bothers me most is most of them are preventable causes of death”.

Bansal added that his next concern was the fact that many fatalities related to “selphie” include young people. More than 85 percent of victims have been of 10-30 age age groups, Bansal explains. These “form the future of a nation. At that age, many have failed to understand what their goals are, they do not even know what they want to do or become. They're just in the bloom of their lives”. /Top Channel
