The Zemaj families, Tolaj and Haklaj have come out with a joint statement following the testimony of protected Special Prosecutor Shkumbin Mehmeti, who has talked about unlightened crimes in Kosovo.
He last night in the debate area has witnessed related to the murder of colonel Tahir Zemaj and two policemen -- Sebahate Tolaj and Isuf Haklja.

Common Declaration of the Zemaj families, Tolaj and Haklaj
Yesterday, on January 11th, 2018, on the “debate area” in Klan Kosova, testimony has been broadcast from Shkumbin Mehmet, a protected witness to the Special Prosecutor, where shocking evidence has been given of unlighted crimes in Kosovo.
On his testimony, Mr. Mehmeti, among other things, has provided information related to the murder of Colonel Tahir Zemaj, as well as to two investigative policemen -- Sebahate Tolij and Isuf Haklajt -- testifying to the motives for ordering these murders, as well as subjecting names that may be involved in committing these crimes.
Just as all public opinion has been shaken, our families have been deeply shaken by the statements and claims of this witness, once convicted of crimes committed as part of a criminal group, as well as a part of the crime enterprise against our family, Tahir, Hasan, Ennis Zemaj and Sebahate Tolaj and Isuf Haklaj.
But what has deeply disturbed us is his testimony regarding the negligence of state officials concerning his statements and claims.
We are deeply disappointed that despite claims by potential witnesses that would lead to the whitelight of these murders, but also of many other crimes committed in Kosovo with political motives, prosecutors have not done enough to fulfill their constitutional and professional standards, leaving these cases to the mercy of fate.
Our families invite the State Prosecutor to take very seriously all the claims of this witness and other evental evidence and treat them seriously so that the perpetrators of these crimes will receive due punishment.
With respect,
The Zemaj families, Tolaj and Haklaj
