WhatsApp, one of the world's most popular communications services, achieved a new record on the evening of the new year: more than 75 billion messages have been sent by its users.
The new record marks the highest number of messages sent in one day in the history of the app.
And last record was set in 2016 with 63 billion messages sent.
Of the 75 billion messages sent, 13 billion are images and 5 billion videos.
WhatsApp currently has 1.3 billion users active monthly. The record was set up despite complaints about the worldwide service.
