Pristina Mayor Shpend Ahmeti has reacted for the first time directly to developments within Vetevendosje.
Following an interview by MP Dardan Molliqaj, Ahmeti has said he is hearing several times from several people who have had an attempt to prevent his arrival at the helm of VV by Albin Kurti. It's about the election of VV president in 2015, when Visar Ymeri was elected.
He has said that this is painful, and in his view, he has never had such goals.
I'm a follower of honest discussions and mutual confidence on a political subject. That's why I don't understand the discussion of the fear of my running for Movement Speaker in 2015. No one has discussed this with me that year directly either. If someone asked me in 2015, I'd tell him in two minutes that I had no ambition or desire to be head of LVV. I have repeated this several times at the Movement Forums throughout this period. I say it again today; I have no interest, ambition, nor desire to run for LVV chairman. Neither in 2015 nor in 2018 nor in 2021 nor later” wrote Ahmeti.
He also talked about what Dardan Molliqaj said in “Rubikon”, where he said Kurti had told him that Ahmeti has agreements with embassies to eliminate him politically.
For this, Ahmeti has said that it is neither worth commenting on. /Periscopi/
