32 people have been declared missing and suspected of losing their lives after a tanker crash with a cargo ship across China's eastern coast.
After the heavy crash, the Sanchi tanker, which carried 13,000 tonnes of Iranian oil, was on fire. The Chinese Transport Ministry said 30 Iranians and two Bangladesh citizens have been declared missing from this registered ship in Panama.
It is learned that all crew of 21 from the other ship was rescued by the Chinese emergency teams. Chinese authorities said the tank is burning and cannot be intervened because of high risk, implying that until the flames are put out or the ship sinks, nothing will come.
The impact between the two ships occurred about 160 nautical miles from the port of Shanghai. Investigations have already begun to reveal the cause of the tragic crash, while learning that this is the first serious accident involving an Iranian oil vessel since sanctions restricting black CHAhar exports from the Islamic republic were lifted in January 2016.
