Former American Senator, once World War II veteran Bob Dole, was set up by his wheelchair for the national anthem during a ceremony held at the United States Congress.
There, the American was honoured with the “Golden Medal of Congress”, for service to the country, Kosovo reports.
Bob Dole was the republican candidate for president in 1996 and president of the Republican majority in Senate from 1985 to 1996.
The prominent politician, who, with his visit to 1990 to Pristina, placed the Kosovo issue in the attention of American foreign policy, has remained for more than 30 years a great friend of Albanians.
He supported NATO intervention, as well as Kosovo's independence, Klan Kosova reports.
