Political parties without exception promote the rule of law. But when they go against the law themselves, they avoid the obligations they make to the state. This is especially so when it comes to paying the sentences they receive during the elections.
Because of failing to write off debts in time, some of them risk receiving additional sentences from the Electoral Panel for Court and Parashtre.
The parties' total debt is 257,450 euros. This figure was created only by fines pronounced for violating the code of courtesy during last October 22nd local elections. Parties so far have paid only 93.900 euros, thus forcing The PZAP gives the ultimatum to political subjects who until the end of this month repay their debts.
“Selector Panel for Anxiety and Prefix ( The PZAP has warned all political subjects who have not paid the fines in line with the deadline set with PZAP's decision on local elections of October 22nd 2017 and given them an additional 15 days' length from the 1701.2018 to the 3101.201818x1>, said the secretary's leader at PZAP, Mule Descu for Actives.
If the political subjects don't pay the fines even after this deadline offered by PZAP within the set deadline with this warning letter to pay the fines, PZAP's right and duty is under Article 120, paragraph 2. The Law for General Elections ʹ LZP, to pronounce additional sentence”, Descu added.
The subject, which leads to the list of fine sentences of 78,550 euros, is the Democratic League of Kosovo, which for more than three months has not paid a single cent.
For these PZAP sentences, the LDK leader Isa Mustafa, who has called political parties plundering, a reaction.
“Dinations are to serve as an educational tool. At the same time, these sentences are more like a robbery by political parties”, Mustafa had said.
Meanwhile after the LDK comes the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 33.600 euros, which has paid only 1,000 euros and 350 euros. The list then continues with the AAK, followed by the Vetevendosje Movement and Alternatives.
And the subjects that have been more correct in paying the fine are: NISMA, AKR, Serbian List, KDT P, PDAK, LB, PLE and GISDP.
The most frequent violations during the election campaign have been the establishment of posters in public spaces, attempts at obstructing public collections, complaints over the establishment of tents in public spaces, and at several electoral gatherings involving children in the campaign.
