Prizren Mayor Mytaher Haskuka has stressed that there are large numbers of lawsuits against municipal administration, which could result in high monetary losses for local power, writes today “Koha Ditore”.
The value of these losses, according to him, could amount to over 50m euros, if the court disputes do not end up in favour of Prizren's municipality.
He has considered that this situation requires radical measures from municipal bodies with the aim of protecting public interest. These positions have revealed to Haskuka as it has inaugurated the paper the importance of choosing the mayor of the Communist Assembly from the ranks of Vetevendosje.
Haskuka in a post on the social Facebook network writes that at the meeting with the only legal representative who is defending the municipality's public interest in Kosovo courts has been informed there are about 4,000 indictments by citizens, different private companies or agencies.

Dear Prizren municipality citizens,
The mayorship of the municipality assembly will be introduced next week, and I will appoint responsible directors from whom I expect maximum commitment so that we can solve the emergency problems of citizens.
After the first analysis of the situation through municipal dictatorships, we found that the current situation is not good at all. Beyond our knowledge, we have inherited a municipality with problems accumulated for decades.
To illustrate, from the first two envelopes I opened as chairman was an indictment against the municipality for disrespecting the signed contract, while the other envelope was information that a business had sent to the owner because the municipality had not paid for the services it received from the company.
At a meeting with the only legal representative who is defending the public interest of the municipality in Kosovo courts, I was informed today there are about 4,000 indictments by citizens, different private companies or agencies. This means that in the last 16 years every working day has been filed by an indictment in courts against the Prizren municipality.
A quick analysis of these indictments shows that their value could amount to over 50m euros, these will eventually be paid by Prizren's municipality budget, and that amount is higher than the Prizren municipality's annual budget. For the past 16 years, government officials translated into the work, with harmful contracts, nonwork, and daily labour violations, have damaged the municipality by about 12,000 Euros.
To be honest, unfortunately these are not the only damage that has been done to Prizren's municipality. The next few days we're going to publish other problems caused by abuses or bad management of the past government.
But despite this sad situation that we have inherited, I ask of you that you may not despair. To overcome this situation, we need the great commitment of each of us and your civic commitment. We can honestly overcome this situation.
In view of all of this, the new government made up of a wide coalition of subjects will be formed next week, because great unity and commitment are needed for major changes.
In the coalition, I will try to include all those who want radical changes to turn the Prizren municipality of residents.
The justified citizens have high expectations of the new government, so I will engage with my entire being for necessary changes and the same thing I ask of all the elected associates. Moreover, I need each and every one of you to help me fulfill all the promises promised. Prizren is known as the beautiful country's mother, because for 2000 years he has managed to overcome his problems.
If we work together, there is hope!
Good priest.
