DUI MP Rejail Ismaili, at “Debat D” at RTV Duagjini, has said statements or actions by Macedonian State President Gjorge Ivanov pose no threat to the Law for Use of Languages.
According to him, even if the president does not sign this law, then the law returns to parliament and by short procedure can be approved by MPs.
If the president does not sign the other way, there is no but to return to parliament. We'll still adopt it in short procedure. The President has nothing to do with it. The law goes into effect. The president of state does not pose absolute danger”, Ismaili said.
He said, among other things, President Ivanov has declared that this law endangers the unitary character of the state.
“The fifth amendment to the Constitution from which this law comes from cannot be jeopardised, so his words are a flescula, and his action does not prevent him from adopting”, Ismaili stressed.
By contrast, the majority vote, Macedonia's Assembly has approved the Law for the use of languages.
This law contains 25 articles and envisions that in all central power bodies, central public enterprises, agencies, directors, organisations, commissions, legal persons performing public activities by law, official language except Macedonian is also the language that 20% of Macedonia's citizens speak in a certain way by law. /Telegraphy/
