Serbian Patriarch Irinej has declared that the Serbian Orthodox Church (KOS ) cannot predict Serbia without Kosovo and has ordered that Serbs could never say they forgive Kosovo because the pardoned one is permanently lost
Kosovo may be kidnapped and conquered, as it is today, but Serbs cannot say they donate because what is donated is permanently lost. We cannot think of Serbia without Kosovo. In recent times we have called that part Kosovo and Metohija, but it is Old Serbia, which was born this other part of Serbia”, Patriarch Irinej said in the Christmas interview for television “Hram”.
He has stressed that KOS hopes so even the state leader thinks and that it is seeing great efforts for Kosovo to be preserved within Serbia.
Irinej has underlined that Kosovo is its Serbian history, culture and soul, that Prizren has been the capital of the Serb people, and Peja's Patrickana, the residence of the Archbishop and Serbian patriarchs.
Could we allow Peja Patricka to be in another country? This self-aware people, their history and culture, cannot afford it. Decani, Virgin Levishka, Gracanica, and other saints can become the property of a people who destroyed them yesterday and burned them”, asked Irinej.
The patriarch has added that the KOS has problems with Macedonia and has estimated that “is not ripe that the unknown Orthodox Church of Macedonia” has demanded that mother become Bulgaria's Orthodox Church.
