Serbian media write that the US has named Yee as delegate to Sarajevo to strengthen the American influence in the Balkans.
It was previously said Yee would be ambassador of USA in Macedonia, but that the American State Department has changed its mind.
The mandate of the current American ambassador to Sarajevo lasts until summer, when Hoyt Yee is expected to be appointed the new ambassador to Bosnia.
