Deputy Prime Minister Enver Hoxhaj has expressed his concern over setting a date for entry into the European Union.
He said an EU strategy should be supported that shows when Kosovo can be part of it.
“has a specific date since 2015 Serbia and Montenegro, if they meet the conditions, will become part of the EU. When it comes to Kosovo, there is a general conclusion”.
“The strategy offers conditions and criteria that are known to meet the countries of the region, but for Kosovo neither conditions nor deadlines. Serbia's progress in EU membership is closely linked to talks with Kosovo, but this is not connected anywhere with Kosovo” has declared Hoxhaj at the government meeting.
He said Kosovo could go to a status quo without a concrete plan of where it could be until 2025.
Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj praised that Kosovo's relations with the EU have stalled as a result of five member states that have not yet recognised Kosovo's independence.
