Ramush Haradinaj should be on an official trip to the United States of Kosovo (SHBA) or landing in the American state today, but diplomatic visa problems have completely changed the plans of Kosovo's prime minister.
Instead of America, he is in a relatively small Kosovo municipality tonight: Rahovec.
Following problems with the diplomatic visa equipment, Kosovo's prime minister has chosen to spend Sunday night at the engagement of Jonuz Shehu, the son of Shehu of the Great Side in Rahovec, Besim Shehu.
In a video posted on Facebook by other participants in this engagement, Haradinaj is seen near the site where popular music singer Shkelzen Jetishi was singing.
Ramush Haradinaj was scheduled to travel to the United States on 7 January, but a visa problem has caused his official trip to the US to fail.
His political adviser, Avni Arifi, said Haradinaj was scheduled to travel towards the US on January 7th. Arifi said the prime minister would meet with officials in the state of Iowa, with which Kosovo has been negotiating numerous agreements.
Kosovo's “government is unaware whether Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has been denied a visa. It's in procedure and we have no answers yet. No government official has been denied American visas, much less Prime Minister”, Arifi has told KTV.
According to Arifi, Haradinaj has applied for visas in late December of last year. Official data on the American Embassy site in Kosovo shows that different types of visas exist. Diplomatic visas and government officials are one of them.
For this kind of visa, the embassy returns in one day.
