Maker “GoPro”, known for the action cameras, is expected to fire 200 to 300 workers from the drone department, the TechCrunch report, here's Telegrafi.
According to a letter leaving the company itself to a worker, these evacuations are reportedly becoming part of a major restructuring strategy.
Workers were fired last Thursday, but will continue to be paid by February 16th 2018, while “GoPro” has not yet commented on the news.
The GoPro company, whose equipment is very popular among surfers, skydivers and various sports, has faced difficulties in recent years until its rivals have improved cameras in smart phones.
In September last year, the company introduced “Hero6”. This action camera makes video 4K at 60 frequencies per second, 2.7K at 120 frequencies per second and 1080p at 240 frequencies per second. The new hardware also increases zooming and focus through touch.
