European Integrity Commission Votes to Change President's Privileges

By 5 votes for, two against and two abstentions -- the Commission for European Integration -- has adopted the Bill for Fulfilling and Changing the Law for President. Against the privileges this law gives to the president, members of the Commission have voiced from the LVV ranks, meanwhile, although they have opposed privileges for the president, MPs [...] have abstained in the vote.
Against the privileges this law gives to the president, members of the Commission from the LVV ranks have indicated, meanwhile, although they have opposed privileges for the president, MPs from the LDK parliamentary group have abstained, Koha Ditore reports.
Commission Chairman, PDK MP Blerta Deliu-Codra, has said the Commission is responsible to assess the bill only in terms of compliance with EU legislation.
According to her, voting for or against the law should take place at the hearing.
On this basis even some deputies of the ruling coalition, although declared against the privileges given to the president, have voted in order for the law to be prosecuted at the hearing.
