The issue the parties clashed with concerned the contract for construction of Calivaci's hydropower plant, the work for which the Beccetti society started since the late 1990s but never finished.
The Italian entrepreneur had demanded a compensation of 137m euros due to the cut-off of the contract by the Albanian authorities, which in turn submitted a counter indictment by demanding 12.9m euros, such as dagger-voting and a 158m-euro compensation, for failing to meet the contract.
According to the Energy Ministry's announcement, international Arbitrage has found the Italian entrepreneur guilty of setting up its 12.9m-euro sum payment on the cost of the process. Regarding the compensation, Arbitrage is expected to be expressed on a second decision.
In 2015, Becchetti invested in the opening of Agon Channel television. But and this venture had no long life after the Italian entrepreneur was charged with setting up a scheme to avoid taxes, and a warrant was issued against him, while his activities in Albania were put under sequistro. / VoA
