Turkey has called Germany's ambassador to Ankara to an emergency meeting because, as it has said, a rally of Kurdish militants in Klin, Turkey's Foreign Ministry reports.
This is an additional sign of strained relations between the two NATO allies, the Express broadcast.
“We condemn organising a rally in the German city of Kiln, from branches of PKK terrorist organisations, and allowing terrorist propaganda. We have stressed our response strongly at the meeting with the German ambassador in Ankara, whom we called to Minister”, the Turkish ministry said in a communique.
Turkey's state news agency, Anadolu, reported that around 3,000 Kurdish supporters demonstrated yesterday in Kiln carrying banners calling for the release of Abdullah Okalan, the imprisoned leader of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), which has been placed on the list of terrorist groups from the European Union and the United States, and is banned in Germany.
Turkey has accused Germany of not doing enough to stop PKK activities.
