The Irish prime minister announced today the organisation of early parliamentary elections, for the second time in less than a year, following the withdrawal of a centre-right coalition party.
The elections are expected to take place before the end of the year, most likely in November, just over a year after the recent early elections caused by the Panama Papers scandal, Bjarni Benedictson identified during a press conference in Reikjavik.
The Icelandic government lost most Friday, less than a year after early parliamentary elections, with the withdrawal of a coalition party accusing the prime minister of covering his father's figure in a complicated court case.
“The executive Committee ) decided to end the golden future to co-operate with the Bjarni Benedictson” government, the centre's party on its Facebook page announced, citing lack of confidence within the government.
