“We are concerned when we hear the number of Muslims leaving Rakhini for Bangladesh”, she said in a televised address Tuesday, adding that Myanmar condemns every “human rights violation” that may have exacerbated the crisis, writes “Al Jazeera”, Periscopi broadcast.
Suu Kyi also said she was “concerned” for Muslims and others who fled to neighbouring Bangladesh.
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate has come under increased criticism over the past month, as more than 440,000 Roggingya have left Burma for Bangladesh, escaping what the UN has described as the “ethnic cleansing”.
On Monday, leaders from the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Canada and Australia had asked Aung San Suu Kyi to push Myanmar's army to end the violence against Rojva.
In her speech, Aung San Suu Kyi said that “is not the goal of the Myanmar government to share guilt or abstain responsibility”, saying in other words that Myanmar is not afraid of “of the international review” on the Rohingawe crisis.
She invited international observers to visit Rakhinen and see the problems more closely.
While Aung San Suu Kyi has no control over the army, she was criticised for her silence over violence in Rakhina.
“Human rights violations and all other acts that undermine stability and harmony and undermine rule of law will be addressed with strict standards of justice”, she said.
Aung San Suu Kyi said her country was ready “at any time to verify the status of Roggya that have fled violence in the last month to help restore those who have the right to re-establish.
“We are prepared to start the verification process at any time”, she said, referring to those who have fled to the unprecedented ecstasy in Bangladesh, without guaranteeing return for all refugees./Periscopi/
